- Description
This course will teach responders how to rapidly “size up” a hazardous materials incident. By using the chemical and physical properties found in the NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, information found in the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) and container types, the responder will be able to make a decision on what steps may be taken immediately at their incident. Tactical decisions regarding potential rescue, monitoring, PPE and decontamination methods will be discussed.
