Course
MERC059 - Basic Cameo for Emergency Planners and Planners
Date & Times
Mar 21 - 23, 2022 from 8 AM - 5 PM
Description

Participants learn the basic computer skills necessary to operate the four (4) components of the CAMEO Suite (CAMEO Chemicals, CAMEODM, MARPLOT and ALOHA). Linkages between the CAMEO programs and other software applications (Google Earth, EXCEL, WORD, and ArcView) are explored. Participants develop these computer skills by first learning the software operations, then by applying those operations to a variety of emergency events that could occur in the local jurisdiction, such as Wildfires, Chemical Releases, Terrorism Events, and Severe Weather Situations. Participants demonstrate competency by conducting a capstone project which requires each participant to prepare a local facility hazard analysis using the CAMEO suite. This course anticipates each participant will have access to a computer during the course delivery. It is recommended that each participant provide their own computer, or that the host agency contract with a computer lab that can provide a computer station for each participant.
