A large storm system is forecast to move through Missouri within the next 24 hours. Tornadoes, strong winds, hail, and heavy rain are expected along and south of a line stretching from Nevada in Vernon County to Cape Girardeau. This exercise will present this scenario and the associated response requiring an activation of local Emergency Operations Centers (LEOCs) and completion of tasks in response to various storm-related incidents.
Participants will strain the communications system by placing a telephone call all at the same time.
Core Capabilities: Operational Communications
Participants will jointly staff the Rolla/Phelps County EOC and utilize WebEOC by completing a situation update or resource request per the exercise scenario.
Core Capabilities: Operational Coordination
Participants will analyze an evolving severe weather incident and activate the Local Emergency Operations Center within 20 minutes following notification of an imminent severe weather incident.
